Mini Royal Commissions - This is a new idea for Canadian governance practices that is based upon a time honoured tradition of inquiries in advance of change in our society and policy.  In this Information Age everything must happen swiftly [Twitter format].  So I propose that we implement this new shorter version of the Royal Commission within the scope of the duties of the Canadian Senate to renew and re-engineer the functions of this time honoured Institution of Canadian Democracy.

*  These twelve to sixteen week processes of inquiry will strengthen our democracy for generations to come through renewed practices of inclusion and distribution of powers, with constant attention to the Will of the Canadian People in matters of controversy; and by the widening of citizen participation via communication technologies and decentralized and multi-site hearings.  This democratizing format and methodology has been used by the TVO program The Agenda with Steve Paikin in their Agenda on the Road sessions across Ontario.

*  This is a new idea that we will exploit in order to promote and expand democratic governance practices in Canada.  This will begin in government and employ Quantum Age technologies and methods, access, speed, responsiveness and ‘Thrift in all Things’.
